About the Artist

Lauren Sumner is an artist, pottery, small business owner, and mom. She grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and returned to Raleigh after college.

When she returned to school to obtain her teaching licensure in art, she rediscovered her love of pottery. After this small hobby grew, Lauren opened an Etsy shop and began selling at small local art shows. In 2015, Lauren left her full-time graphic design job to concentrate on making and selling pottery as her primary job.

Some of Lauren's most popular items include little cat shaped bowls, monstera leaf bowls, and state shaped ornaments. Her passion now includes one-of-a-kind pieces, such as the hand-carved mugs and vases. Brightly colored glazes and original patterns help Lauren's work stand out in a crowd.
